Jaideep Mehrotra is a multi-disciplinary artist who has been a part of the Indian Art World for the past four decades.Although renowned for combining cutting-edge technology with traditional painting and sculptural techniques, he is best known for being a pioneer of digital art in India.
Over the years, he has created a significant body of work that incorporates digital elements; everything from digital overlays on canvas, to video art installations. He believes that paintings are essentially ‘mute’ and that they should have an ability to speak for themselves – an outcome he has found is best expressed with mixed media works, that allow him both flexibility and the space to innovate.
